Last Updated: June 2026

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully before using our Course Website. By using our Website, its content, or purchasing our courses, you consent to this Privacy Policy.

The Website and its Content are owned by Anna-Kaisa Manolova, Owner of AKWise (“Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). The term “you” refers to the user, student, or viewer of our course platform (“Website”). This privacy policy (“policy”) describes how AKWise collects, uses, processes, and protects the data you provide to us when you visit and use our online course platform.

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page or by placing a prominent notice on our website. Continued use of the Website after changes constitute acceptance of the updated privacy policy.

We act as the Data Controller for the personal data collected through this website. We utilize trusted third-party Data Processors to manage payments and host course infrastructure.

1. What Data We Collect & How We Use It

We collect the minimum amount of information necessary to create your student account, track your learning progress, and process transactions.

Account & Contact Information

  • What we collect: Your chosen username, email address, and account password.
  • How we collect it: When you register for an account to access our online courses.
  • Legal basis & use: This information is necessary to create your personal account, secure your access, and communicate with you regarding your account or course updates.

Course Progress & Activity Data

  • What we collect: Course completion status (when you mark a lesson complete) and optional quiz answers.
  • How we collect it: Automatically through the learning platform as you navigate the courses.
  • Legal basis & use: This data is processed to track your individual learning progress, allow you to resume where you left off, and issue certificates where applicable. Filling out quizzes and marking lessons as complete is entirely voluntary.

Financial & Billing Information

  • What we collect: Name, billing address, and payment details.
  • How we collect it: When you purchase a course through our platform.
  • Legal basis & use: This information is processed under our contractual obligation to deliver the digital courses you purchased.

General Inquiries & Other Services

  • What we collect: Name, email address, and any details you provide in a support message.
  • How we collect it: If you contact us directly for support or inquire about our dietitian or yoga services.
  • Legal basis & use: We use this strictly to answer your questions. You will not be added to our marketing newsletter unless you provide separate, explicit consent to do so.

2. Third-Party Data Processors & Infrastructure

We do not sell, lease, or distribute your personal information. To run our course platform efficiently, we share data with trusted third-party providers who meet strict privacy and security standards:

  • Learning Management System: Our platform runs on LearnDash, which securely processes your username, password, and course progress data on our server infrastructure.
  • Payment Processing: We use Stripe to securely handle financial transactions. We do not store your credit card details on our own servers.

International Data Transfers

AKWise is operated from Finland. Because we utilize global cloud-based platforms and plugins, your data may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside of the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States. We ensure that our third-party vendors utilize appropriate legal safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or recognized international data privacy frameworks, to protect your data regardless of where it is processed.

3. How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary:

  • Account & Course Progress data: Kept as long as your student account remains active so you can access your courses. You may request account deletion at any time.
  • Transaction & Financial data: Kept for as long as required by relevant Finnish tax and legal obligations.

4. Cookies and Tracking

Our website does not use marketing, profiling, or advertising cookies. We do not track your behavior across the internet or collect data for third-party advertising.

However, our platform utilizes strictly necessary (functional) cookies to function properly. These cookies are required to manage your student session (keeping you securely logged into your account as you navigate between lessons) and to securely process payments at checkout via Stripe.

You can choose to disable cookies through your internet browser settings; however, please note that doing so will prevent you from logging into the course platform and accessing your purchased content.

5. Security & Account Accountability

We take data security seriously and implement reasonable technical measures to protect your account and information. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. In the event of a known data breach, we will notify affected users and regulatory authorities immediately as required by law.

Account Security & Passwords

You are strictly responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your username and password. Sharing your login credentials to give non-paying users access to the courses is a violation of our terms. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.

6. Your Legal Rights

For European Union & International Users (GDPR Compliance)

If you are located in the EU, you have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Right to Access & Rectification: You can view your account details at any time and fix any inaccuracies.
  • Right to Erasure: You can request that we delete your student account and personal data.
  • Right to File a Complaint: You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (such as the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman / Tietosuojavaltuutettu) if you believe your data has been handled unlawfully.

For California Residents (CCPA/CPRA Compliance)

If you are a resident of California, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

  • Right to Know & Delete: You have the right to request a disclosure of the personal data we collect, and request its deletion (subject to legal exceptions, such as financial audit laws).
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will never discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, or to request account deletion, contact us directly at [email protected].
